Touch the hearts of the religious leaders of today, that they may be faithful to your teachings of love, compassion, justice, and forgiveness. Lord Jesus, you rebuked the religious leaders of your time for their hypocrisy and their distorting the commandments. Help me to recognize the wonder in all that surrounds me. Thank you for the stark beauty of these winter days. God of life, thank you for the gift of this day. Thank you for all the good that they accomplished, and forgive them for their shortcomings. Thank you for the example they provided, the lessons they taught, the love and wisdom they shared. Help them find shelter in their hour of need.Īlmighty God, I give you thanks today for the lives of my family members who are no longer living. Help us to be mindful of those who by necessity must live or work outdoors for extended periods of time. The cold temperatures, the winds, and the rains can be harsh on all of us. Lord, we are past the halfway point through winter. Please hear our prayers, comfort our hearts, and wipe away our tears. Like Mary, we too turn to you in our time of need or on behalf of others. Lord Jesus, at the wedding in Cana it was your mother Mary who asked you to help when they had run out of wine it was here where you performed your first miracle. In difficult circumstances, help us to always listen to our hearts. Guide us to choose good over evil, life over death, and faith over doubt. Loving God, in today’s reading from the Book of Sirach, we are reminded that we have choices in life. Calm my worries, and strengthen my faith reassure me that you are with me as I walk through this life that you have given me. May my thoughts, words, and actions reflect your love with those I encounter this day.Īlmighty God, when I look to the future I am sometimes overcome with stress and uncertainty about what may happen to me or my loved ones. Let me be mindful of the many ways those around me show their love each day. Lord God, thank you for the gift of your enduring love. In this world full of division and indifference, help us once again reconcile with you and with one another through love. As we begin today the Triduum Mass in honor of the Seven Holy Founders of the Servants of Mary, help imitate their example of brotherly love for one another. May Our Lady intercede for us, as she did for our Seven Founders, that as her servants, we may bring many of her children closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. We pray that we, as your servants who celebrate their feast day, continue to be courageous witness to your great love through our love and service, through our fraternal way of life, and through following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary, standing at the foot of our brothers and sisters who are still suffering in our world today. Lord Jesus, you called your disciples to leave everything and follow you as fishers of men. Our Seven Founders also set aside everything and followed the Gospel way of life through the inspiration of the Sorrowful Mother. Give us the grace to follow their example in word and deed on this, their feast Day. Oh, Loving God, You have given us the powerful example of our Seven Holy Founders, and their love for the Mother of God, to show us how to dedicate our lives to You through prayer, dedication to Mary and to building community with one another, as well as service to your people. May we truly live in your presence as we go through this day. Help us, in turn, to recognize a spark of your presence in one another. Their experience showed your divine presence in your son, Jesus. Lord Jesus, you said to your disciples, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Grant me the courage and generosity of heart to follow your command help me to remember that we are all a little bit broken, that we are all in need of forgiveness, understanding, and compassion.Īlmighty God, today’s gospel reading tells of the transfiguration of Jesus, witnessed by his disciples Peter, James, and John.
