God’s commands are important, and we should live according to His commands because this is His will for our lives. “19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?Ģ0 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” In closing, let’s read a verse in Corinthians. Young people, to keep your bodies pure and wait until God blesses you with that special companion in marriage leads to a beautiful life in Christ. The ways we see others practicing that oppose God’s commands for us. He wants us to turn our backs on the ways of the world. God wants us to live for Him in the way He’s told us we should. I promise you that God’s ways and commands are pure, holy, and help keep and protect us. God can help Godly young people keep their bodies pure and holy for Him until they marry. And other times, you will need to make a point not to put yourself in situations where you are likely to stumble. At times, you might need to go to God in prayer and ask for His strength to help you stand. I want to challenge you today to listen to God’s commands and set appropriate boundaries in your life. Our body is a work of art only to be shared by one person under God’s condition – marriage. They might come to you and say things like everyone else is doing it why can’t we do it too? Your friends might tell you, but it’s exciting! Something fun to do! We must learn to treasure and respect our bodies as beautiful and special. The enemy is clever, and you might be tempted by someone of the opposite gender you are attracted to. Young person, this is God’s plan for us established many years before. “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.” “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.” We need to search the scriptures and ask God what He thinks on a topic, and He is faithful to show us. God’s opinion should drive and direct our choices in our lives. God’s people need to go to His word and concern themselves with God’s thoughts. What other people are saying doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what you see your friends and other people in your community doing. But, if you wish to walk in God’s way, then God’s opinion is what matters, and the Bible clearly teaches 100% against this practice. If you are asking if it is okay to engage in premarital sex, my opinion or answer is not what matters. A righteous person before God would not practice this. So we see here, per the Bible, God sees premarital sex as a sin. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” In one place, the Bible teaches us to flee fornication and that fornication is a sin against our own body. The Bible teaches in many different places against fornicating. Our bodies are God’s temple, and we reserve them pure before God until we are married. Today we are learning that for a young Christian person, sex before marriage is not okay. This topic is frequently discussed among teens, and teens wonder if it’s okay. The Bible warns us against premarital sex. Who will you be obedient to? Whose commands will you follow, God’s or the worlds’? Look around, and you see that people in this world consistently change their ideas and way of thinking about what is right and what is wrong. Young people, I tell you today that God is Holy and just. We live in times where the world around us is trying to change the standards, and moral commands sent down by God years ago.
